With distinctive fast-draining soil and a unique microclimate overlooking the Mediterranean, Alella has produced exceptional wines since Roman times, served to Emperors no less! This fame continued in the Middle Ages, when Alella wines were served at the court of the Kings of Aragon.
Today, Alella is the smallest wine region in Cataluyna to gain coveted EU Denomination of Origen (D.O.) status...but for some reason it isn’t well known abroad. Our mission is to change that – don't miss out on this secret!
We will visit 2 carefully-selected vineyards (the region's best and most popular, where depending on the day we might might tour with other guests, and a beautiful family-run bodega we work with exclusively), and devour a home-style, traditional Catalan lunch. By the end of the tour, you'll have learnt much about the region, its unique geological properties, and our special pansa blanca grape, accompanied by a charismatic, informed, private guide.
For private groups of 3-6 guests.
Local English-speaking guide, who knows and loves Barcelona and the surrounding region
Of course drinks are included! We will enjoy white, red, rosé, sparkling and aperativo/dessert wines, showcasing the very best that this small high-quality region has to offer.
Private transportation
Water will be available at each location, including in your private vehicle.
We will enjoy a traditional 3-course lunch at a restaurant well loved by locals, and with stunning views of the valley and Mediterranean Sea. Guests choose their dishes from the ample "menu del día".
